ဘဂၤလားပင္လယ္ေအာ္ေတာင္ပိုင္းမွေလဖိအားနည္းရပ္ဝန္း ပိုမိုအားေကာင္းလာေနၿပီး သီရိလကၤာႏိုင္ငံ အေရွ႕-အေရွ႕ေျမာက္ဘက္ ၂၈၅ မိုင္အကြာ ပင္လယ္ျပင္တြင္ ဗဟိုျပဳလွ်က္ရွိေနပါသည္။ ေလဖိအားနည္းရပ္ဝန္း သည္ ေျမာက္ဘက္သို႕ ဆက္လက္ေရြ႕လ်ားမည္ဟု ခန္႕မွန္းထားၿပီး ပိုမိုအားေကာင္းလာကာ ေနာက္ ၂၄ နာရီအတြင္း အပူပိုင္းမုန္တိုင္းအျဖစ္သို႕ ေရာက္လာႏိုင္ေၾကာင္း JTWC ခန္႕မွန္းခ်က္တြင္ ေဖၚျပထားပါသည္။

ေလဖိအားနည္းရပ္ဝန္း၏ ဗဟိုတြင္ ေလတိုက္ႏွဳန္း တစ္နာရီလွ်င္ ၂၅ မွ ၃ဝ ေနာ္တီကယ္မိုင္ (တစ္နာရီ ၃၅ မိုင္ႏွဳန္းခန္႕အထိ) ရွိမည္ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း ေဖၚျပထားပါသည္။

ေလဖိအားနည္းရပ္ဝန္း၏ အေျခအေနအားဆက္လက္ေစာင့္ၾကည့္ေလ့လာႏိုင္ရန္ ဤေနရာတြင္ ကလစ္လုပ္ပါ။

  • THE AREA OF CONVECTION PREVIOUSLY LOCATED NEAR 6.5N 84.1E, IS NOW LOCATED NEAR 9.4N 83.8E, APPROXIMATELY 285 NM EAST-NORTHEAST OF COLOMBO, SRI LANKA.
  • RECENT ANIMATED MULTISPECTRAL SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATES CONTINUED CONSOLIDATION OF DEEP CONVECTION ABOUT AN AREA OF STRENGTHENED LOW LEVEL TURNING.
  • THERE IS SIGNIFICANT UNCERTAINTY IN THE LOCATION OF THE LOW LEVEL CIRCULATION CENTER (LLCC) GIVEN THAT IT IS NOT YET FULLY CONSOLIDATED AND IT IS OBSCURED BY HIGH CLOUDS.
  • A 111530Z ASCAT IMAGE CONFIRMS A NORTH-SOUTH ELONGATION OF THE LLCC WITH 20 TO 30 KNOT NORTHEASTERLY FLOW POSITIONED TO SUPPORT FURTHER CONSOLIDATION OF THE LLCC.
  • DEEP CONVECTION CONTINUES TO BE FUELED BY STRONG RADIAL AND POLEWARD OUTFLOW MECHANISMS.
  • VERTICAL WIND SHEAR IS ALSO ASSESSED AS LOW. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 25 TO 30 KNOTS.
  • MINIMUM SEA LEVEL PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1001 MB.
  • THE POTENTIAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SIGNIFICANT TROPICAL CYCLONE WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS IS UPGRADED TO GOOD.

    The tropical storm which was heading towards Eastern Parts of Sri Lanka last evening prompting a weather alert is now slowly moving away from the island, an official at the Department of Meteorology told Daily Mirror online. Satellite images this morning however showed the formation of the tropical cyclone heading towards the island.

    The Department of Meteorology issued a weather warning last evening to the Northern, Eastern, North-central and Uva provinces and the Hambantota district and urged the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages caused by lightning activities
