Over the weekend, torrential rains pounded the Philippines. Tropical Storm Ketsana has resulted in widespread flooding, landslides and massive population displacement. More than 1.8 million people have been affected, and that number could rise.

Catholic Relief Services

Catholic Relief Services has pledged $250,000 to help victims of Typhoon Ketsana who fled their homes following massive flooding caused by the storm as it swept across the Philippines main island of Luzon. CRS is also preparing an emergency response in Vietnam, where the storm hit Tuesday, killing dozens of people and flooding towns and villages along the nation’s coastline.
